Coming Soon: 2025 – A New Era of Growth and Social Impact
For over 20 years, Pathways to Independence (PTI UK) has been dedicated to helping care-experienced young people, asylum seekers, and marginalised groups. Our vision is a world where all young people can fulfil their potential and transition to independent adult life. Our mission is to provide housing, support, and training for disadvantaged or isolated young people, including those seeking asylum and others who feel excluded from their communities.
Expanding into SEND Support
In 2025, we are excited to expand our work to support and provide for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This aligns with our commitment to fostering inclusion, offering trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based support to help all young people overcome barriers and thrive.
Young People with SEND
Young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) often face significant disadvantages throughout their lives, particularly in education, employment, and social integration. Many young people with SEND experience exclusion from mainstream education due to a lack of appropriate support or understanding of their needs. This can lead to lower academic attainment and reduced opportunities for future employment.
Young people with SEND are at an increased risk of social isolation and mental health challenges, as they may struggle to form meaningful connections with their peers or participate fully in community activities. The barriers they face are often exacerbated by societal stigma and a lack of access to specialized resources or services designed to meet their unique needs.
Without adequate support, these young people can feel marginalised, excluded from their communities, and ill-prepared for independent living. At PTI UK, we are committed to addressing these issues by offering comprehensive support that helps young people with SEND develop the skills they need to thrive, and thus access their community and mainstream services, without disadvantage
Our Not-for-Profit Commitment
As a Community Interest Company (CIC), our expansion into SEND aligns with our mission to support diverse, at-risk groups. With our expertise in providing specialised housing, support, and training, our work is naturally transferable to other service user groups, including young people with SEND. We remain dedicated to supporting young people who feel outside of their community to be part of their community, supporting them through support, education, or training, to build the skills needed for independent living.
Stay Tuned!
We look forward to sharing more about our new SEND services and how we’ll continue making a difference for young people in 2025. Together, we can build a brighter future where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
